TAPELESS MOD 1.0 BETA - free custom firmware for the WHITE ImmersionRC PowerPlay DVR
=====================================================================================
By Tyler Casey (YouTube @TylerCaseyProd, Instagram @tylercaseyprod). Free; not made or supported by ImmersionRC.

Which unit? The original WHITE PowerPlay (ImmersionRC, 2019, firmware v2.0032.01).
It does NOT fit the newer black/clear PowerPlay sold by DirectFPV - don't try it there.

This is a BETA. It has been tested on one unit. You flash it at your own risk.

Before you start
----------------
  - Charge the PowerPlay fully. A power cut during the update is the one real way to brick it.
  - Use an SD card you can wipe. Formatting it in the PowerPlay first is the safest.

Install (same as an official update)
------------------------------------
  1. Format the SD card in the PowerPlay (or FAT32 on a computer).
  2. Copy powerplay.bin from this folder to the ROOT of the card. Keep the name, no folders.
  3. Put the card in and power on. The update screen appears. Wait until it finishes and the
unit restarts or goes dark. Don't touch it in the meantime.
  4. If powerplay.bin is still on the card afterwards, delete it (or it may flash again).
  5. Power on. The update resets the menu settings: set the clock again if you use it.
  6. MENU > VERSION should now say 1.0 BETA.

Going back to the original firmware
-----------------------------------
Download the official firmware from ImmersionRC's PowerPlay page
(https://www.immersionrc.com/fpv-products/powerplay/) and flash it the same way.

Extras in this folder (Windows, optional)
-----------------------------------------
Make Custom Boot Screen.bat your own picture on the power-on screen.
                                See custom_boot_image\READ ME - boot image specs.txt.
PowerPlay Converter.bat drag your .MOV clips onto it: correct 4:3 shape and colour,
                                ProRes for editing, 24p / 25p / 60p versions.

Both need Python 3 (python.org, tick "Add python.exe to PATH" when installing). Then, once,
  in a command prompt:
      py -m pip install pillow
  The converter also needs FFmpeg:
      winget install ffmpeg

Problems
--------
  - Boots but something acts oddly: flash the official firmware (above) and tell me what happened.
  - Doesn't boot at all: stop, don't keep power-cycling, and message me.
Feedback and bug reports: Instagram DM @tylercaseyprod, or a comment on the YouTube video.
Tell me what you did, what you expected, and what happened (a phone video of the screen helps).
